SUMMARY:ChallengeEU Match Making Research Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Mid Sweden University warmly invites researchers from institutions within ChallengeEU to participate in the first Matchmaking Research Workshop. This online workshop marks the starting point for building new collaborative ties across the ChallengeEU alliance. Although ChallengeEU primarily provides funding for educational activities\, the event also offers an opportunity to explore potential research collaborations\, joint project ideas\, and future mobility or exchange initiatives. \n\n\n\nThe workshop will begin with an introduction to its aims: bringing together researchers from different universities\, identifying common interests\, and initiating partnerships that may lead to research proposals\, comparative studies\, and both short- and long-term cooperation. Following the introduction\, participants will join four thematic breakout groups to discuss strengths\, challenges\, and possibilities for joint activities. The themes will be introduced and moderated by researchers from Mid Sweden University. DESCRIPTION:The Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme The Green Shift: Empowering Community and Nature-Based Potential is an international learning programme designed to equip students with the knowledge\, skills\, and practical experience needed to build sustainable\, resilient\, and inclusive communities. \nThe programme explores how community participation\, the social economy\, and nature-based solutions can address environmental and social challenges while creating long-term development potential. The programme combines theory\, interdisciplinary learning\, and hands-on collaboration between students from different countries\, academic disciplines\, and stakeholder organisations. DESCRIPTION:“Inclusive Mentoring and Career Development for a Diverse Academia” is a BIP designed to strengthen the capacity of mentors\, mentees\, and university staff to create inclusive and empowering mentoring relationships across the ChallengeEU alliance. The BIP combines academic input\, intercultural learning\, and practical workshops focused on mentoring\, diversity\, and inclusive leadership. Place: University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (UWM)\, April 2026 Dates: 5 days on-site + online preparation and follow-up modules (TBE) \n\nGeneral Aim To strengthen the capacity of mentors\, mentees and university staff to create inclusive and empowering mentoring relationships across the ChallengeEU alliance. The BIP combines academic input\, intercultural learning and practical workshops focused on mentoring\, diversity\, and inclusive leadership. \n\n\n\nProposed Thematic Blocks:  \n\n\n\n\nInclusive Mentoring in Practice Introduction to the ChallengeEU mentoring framework. How to create equitable mentoring relationships (power dynamics\, gender sensitivity\, intersectionality). Building trust and confidentiality in mentoring pairs. Case studies from alliance partners.\n\n\n\nCommunication and Feedback in Mentoring Active listening and reflective dialogue techniques. Constructive feedback and difficult conversations. Emotional intelligence and boundaries in mentoring. Microaggressions and bias awareness in academic communication.\n\n\n\nIntercultural and Cross-Border Mentoring Working across cultures: challenges and opportunities. Intercultural values in mentoring and leadership. Simulation exercises with international mentor-mentee pairs.\n\n\n\nPersonal and Professional Growth Designing a personal mentoring plan and development goals. Self-reflection workshop: “From mentee to leader”. Resilience and wellbeing in academic careers.\n\n\n\nNetworking and Community Building Open networking sessions among mentors and mentees from all regions. Guest lecture: e.g. Inclusive leadership in research and innovation ecosystems. Alliance showcase: ODEI good practices in partner universities. Social evening and cultural integration programme (Olsztyn City Tour\, mentoring café).\n\n\n\n\nLearning Objectives  \n\n\n\nParticipants will: \n\n\n\n\nUnderstand how diversity and inclusion principles (ODEI) can be integrated into mentoring and academic career development.\n\n\n\nGain practical skills in mentoring communication\, feedback and boundary-setting.\n\n\n\nExplore strategies for building trust\, psychological safety and intercultural sensitivity in cross-border mentoring.\n\n\n\nReflect on their professional identity and leadership potential within an inclusive academic community.\n\n\n\nBuild a cross-alliance network of mentors\, mentees and ODEI practitioners.\n\n\n\n\nExpected Outputs and Impact \n\n\n\n\nDevelopment of a common mentoring plan template for all partners.\n\n\n\nStrengthened mentor-mentee connections across institutions.\n\n\n\nDevelopment of the existing toolkits on inclusive mentoring practices.\n\n\n\nEnhanced visibility of UWM and ChallengeEU leaders in inclusive mentoring and academic diversity.\n\n\n\n\nInclusive Mentoring and Career Development for a Diverse Academia: \n\n\n\nFormat & Credits Virtual sessions: April\, 2026 On-site component in Olsztyn: April 20 – 24\, 2026 Location: Faculty of Social Sciences\, Dybowskiego 13\, Olsztyn\, Poland Credits: 3 ECTS \n\n\n\nTarget Group Participants in the ChallengeEU Mentoring Programme (mentees and mentors) will be accepted first.
