    INCLUDO: How inclusive is Artificial Intelligence?

    INCLUDO focuses on a highly topical issue: Artificial Intelligence and Diversity. Artificial Intelligence (AI) promises new opportunities – such as barrier-free tools or personalized learning offers. At the same time, cases of bias, discrimination, and stereotyping continue to emerge. How inclusive is AI, and what do we as users need to be aware of? We will explore these questions in an interactive workshop. Following an expert input from AI specialist Sonja Angehrn, we will jointly test various AI tools for their diversity competence and compare the results. What you’ll take away: Understanding: How does AI work – and where are its limitations? Competence: How can AI results be critically evaluated?     Family Law through ODEI M.A.R.K.E.T.: Student Perspectives is an academic and creative showcase designed for students of the Faculty of Law, university staff, and invited stakeholders. Family Law through ODEI M.A.R.K.E.T.: Student Perspectives is a dynamic academic event, organized within the ChallengeEU Project, designed to bring together students, mentors, university staff, and key stakeholders from the legal and social sectors. The showcase presents student-led research on essential topics in family law through the principles of Openness, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) and the guiding pillars of the M.A.R.K.E.T. model: Multi-actor collaboration: engaging students, mentors, faculty, legal professionals, NGOs, and community members Knowledge exchange: enabling open dialogue between academia, practice, and community sectors Team-based learning: strengthening teamwork, communication, and critical thinking within student groups and mentors Research engagement: encouraging analytical exploration of Family Law through ODEI frameworks Cross-sector participation: Promoting inclusive perspectives in legal education and policy reflection Students will present their work through poster, research presentations and policy-oriented reflection.     We are pleased to invite you to the upcoming ChallengeEU Online Café, this time dedicated to one of the most transformative topics in academia today: Artificial Intelligence in higher education. This session will bring together four speakers from four ChallengeEU partner universities, each offering brief insights into AI-related initiatives developed at their institutions: South East European University (SEEU) Universidade Europeia (UEL) ECAM LaSalle Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU) What Will We Discuss? The conversation will be broadly structured around three overarching questions: How are institutions framing and supervising students’ use of AI?This includes usage guidelines, monitoring tools and contexts of use, and early findings on how students engage with AI in practice. In what ways can AI enrich teaching and course activities?Speakers will share practical examples of how AI is being integrated into learning and teaching. What governance, support mechanisms, and ethical frameworks are needed for responsible AI use?We will explore how universities can ensure meaningful, transparent and ethically sound integration of AI into academic life. Our aim is to create a collegial and open space for discussion, where professors and academic staff can meet peers facing similar questions, exchange experiences, and gather ideas for their own pedagogical practice. Interactive Breakout Discussions Following the speakers’ presentations, participants will join breakout rooms to exchange perspectives, compare practices, and reflect together on shared challenges and opportunities.     We are pleased to invite all our partners in the Challenge EU Alliance to participate in the upcoming edition of the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) "Resilience Lab: Media for Social Change" This BIP brings together students and academic staff from different fields to explore how media shape public opinion and can support positive social change. Focusing on resilience to disinformation, the program combines online sessions with an intensive on-site module, enabling participants to critically analyze information and create responsible, impactful media content. Program Dates:  Virtual sessions: May 4th, 2026 On-site component in Olsztyn: May 11-15, 2026 We are looking for Bachelor, Master & PhD students in the humanities and social sciences. You are also warmly invited to contribute as a lecturer, mentor, or session leader, if interested – we'd be thrilled to co-design this experience with you. We kindly ask each partner to confirm their willingness to participate by January 23th, 2026 and to select and confirm their students by February 23th, 2026, so we can proceed with the necessary coordination for logistics and team formation.     The POSITIVE Impact Challenge is taking place between 14-16 April 2026, and is inviting social organizations, members of civil society and industry partners to come together with students for co-creation activities. It will take place in the form of a hackathon, where a design sprint will be carried out over the course of 3 days, prototypes will be developed and presented by the teams. The goal of the event is to strengthen digitization efforts in the region and mobilize the collaboration between students (solvers) and organizations for social engagement (seekers).     The Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), organised by Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU), is an international learning experience designed to strengthen students’ key transversal and 21st-century competencies for academic, professional, and global environments. The programme focuses on developing intercultural communication, critical and evidence-based thinking, media and information literacy, and effective teamwork through structured international collaboration and guided interaction in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams. Participants will engage in both online and on-site learning activities, gaining practical experience in working across cultures, disciplines, and digital environments. Students will enhance their ability to communicate clearly and responsibly, evaluate information critically, recognise misinformation and AI-generated content, and collaborate successfully in international academic and professional contexts. The programme is open to students from all academic fields who wish to strengthen their skills for studying, working, and communicating in a globalised world.     55th International Student Research Groups Seminar "At the Boundaries of Disciplines" The University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn is proud to host the jubilee 55th edition of the International Student Research Groups Seminar on 26–27 May 2026. For many years, the International Student Research Groups Seminar has served as a prestigious forum for presenting the achievements of young researchers, as well as a space for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and research inspiration. This year's theme, "At the Boundaries of Disciplines," highlights the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue, cooperation between diverse fields of science, and the search for new research perspectives that transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries. About the Event The Seminar creates an open and inspiring environment for the presentation of research results, theoretical concepts, applied projects, and innovative scientific solutions, representing a broad spectrum of disciplines and research areas. Students and doctoral candidates from academic institutions worldwide are welcome to participate, either as active presenters or passive participants, regardless of their disciplinary background.     20th International Week at UEL

    As part of UEL’s International Week and within the scope of the ChallengeEU Alliance, two online events will be offered to promote learning, reflection, and collaboration around key societal challenges. These sessions aim to support participants in strengthening their competencies in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), as well as in understanding the role of image, representation, and social participation in contemporary contexts. On 23 February, the online workshop “CBL – Designing, Implementing & Assessing Challenge‑Based Learning through the lens of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” will take place from 16:00 to 18:00 CET. This session will provide a practical and inclusive approach to Challenge‑Based Learning (CBL), focusing on how DEI principles can enhance the learning experience and contribute to more equitable educational environments. On 27 February, from 11:00 to 12:00 CET, an online lecture on “Image & Social Inclusion” will be held, exploring how visual perception, representation, and public image shape opportunities for social participation, belonging, and equity in diverse communities. These events invite participants from across the ChallengeEU network to engage, learn, and exchange perspectives in a dynamic and internationally connected environment.     9th International Scientific Conference on Business and Economics (ISCBE 2026), organized by the Faculty of Business and Economics, South East European University, and held as a hybrid event on 11–12 June 2026 at the European University of Valencia, Spain. This conference provides a forward-looking and interdisciplinary platform for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to explore how economies can become resilient, competitive, and future-ready in an era of rapid technological change and global uncertainty. The central theme focuses on the critical role of innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation in shaping sustainable and competitive economic systems. Key discussions will address topics such as digital competitiveness and economic growth, innovation driven entrepreneurship, the role of artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making, startup and ecosystem development, digital skills and human capital, and policy frameworks supporting future oriented economies. Special attention will be given to how firms, institutions, and regions can adapt to disruptive technologies while fostering inclusive and sustainable development. We strongly encourage the active participation of master’s and PhD students.
