Online Café: Building Strong Networks in Higher Education

November 5 4:00 am - 4:30 am

November 5 @ 4:00 am – 4:30 am

How can universities create communities that enable people to share knowledge, learn from each other, and respond constructively to new challenges? In this online café, we will explore practical examples of community building across universities, including both promising approaches and challenges along the way.

The session will include short inputs from ChallengeEU partner universities, offering different perspectives and experiences of building communities in higher education.

Monika Schlatter and Dominik Tschopp will introduce EduAI@FHNW, a university-wide Community of Practice supporting the constructive use of generative AI in teaching. They will share how a lean, moderated network can bring together expertise, encourage exchange, and gradually contribute to organisational development.

Fred Fellner will share their experience of building a diversity community at Hochschule Offenburg.
An interactive part will invite participants to reflect on their own contexts, exchange ideas, and consider what makes communities work in practice.
