Our Mission
The ChallengeEU Alliance recognizes openness, diversity, equity and inclusion (ODEI) as fundamental principles for building a fairer, more innovative European academic community that promotes human rights. We are committed to creating inclusive, respectful, and representative learning and working environments where everyone feels valued.

Awareness and capacity-building programs on ODEI for students, faculty, and staff, strengthening inclusive behaviours, allyship, and institutional change across countries and disciplines.
ODEI Curriculum Unit
A dedicated course integrated into Alliance programs that explores theories, practices, and case studies on diversity, equity, and inclusion, empowering learners to become change agents in their institutions and communities.
Diversity in Governance Bodies
Ensuring representation, diversity, and equitable participation in boards, committees, and advisory groups, so that decision-making mirrors the plural voices of the academic community.
Digital Repository
A central hub that gathers guides, projects, tools, and training materials to support institutions in designing, implementing, and monitoring inclusive policies and practices.
Inclusive Participation & Mobility
Events, mentoring, and mobility opportunities designed so that participants from all Alliance countries can engage locally or abroad, with guidance from ODEI Officers.
ODEI Repository
A central space to explore all ODEI resources created within WP5: policies, training materials, best practices, and tools that support inclusive transformation across the Alliance.
Guides & Tools
Practical resources on inclusive language, accessibility guidelines, templates, and checklists to apply ODEI principles in teaching, events, communication, and management.

Training

ODEI Curriculum Unit – Course Overview
The ODEI Curriculum Unit is a cross‑Alliance course that introduces key concepts, frameworks, and practices related to openness, diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education and society.
- Learning goals: Understand structural inequalities in education, recognize bias and discrimination, and develop inclusive practices for teaching, research, governance, and student life.
- Format: Blended and online components combining theory, reflection, case studies, and collaborative projects, co‑taught by staff from several Alliance institutions.
- Key themes: human rights and higher education, intersectionality, inclusive pedagogy, accessibility, anti‑discrimination frameworks, allyship, and institutional transformation.
Best Practices
A curated collection of projects and initiatives that demonstrate ODEI in action, such as Market Meet Up, mentoring schemes, inclusive events, and peer‑support programs.
