Workshop: Internal Communication & Conflict Management

November 3, 2025 - November 4, 2025

The two-part workshop takes place on Monday, 3 November (13:30–16:30 CET) and Tuesday, 4 November (09:30–12:30 CET). International university alliances thrive on cooperation, commitment and mutual trust. For cooperation to succeed, it not only requires visibility and external communication, but also robust internal structures and processes - especially when navigating tensions or conflicting goals. The two-part workshop series supports employees from administration, research, transfer, communication, and project management in the ChallengeEU alliance. It promote skills in stakeholder engagement, open science, and internal conflict resolution – aimed at reinforcing current alliance structures and proactively addressing risks identified during the preparatory phase. Workshop is open to all the ChallenegeEU alliance partners. Speaker profiles Dr Annette Klinkert is an internationally experienced workshop facilitator, trainer and science communicator. Since 2012, she has been Managing Director of city2science (www.city2science.de), a German company that develops innovative communication approaches linking scientific institutions with urban and regional development strategies. Dr. Verena Molitor is a project manager at city2science GmbH. At city2science, she develops innovative engagement approaches, training programmes and application designs that link scientific institutions with urban and regional development strategies. She also organises workshops and training courses on topics such as science communication, open innovation and public engagement. As part of the Regional Innovation Initiative, a transdisciplinary 1.5-day Co-Creation Workshop will take place at the new Coworking Space Flow1986 (M.A.R.K.E.T. Square) in Offenburg, focusing on key questions of sustainability and future development. Students from Offenburg University, together with regional and interregional partners, freelancers and start-ups will collaboratively develop concrete approaches to local sustainability challenges designed to create impact well beyond the workshop itself.

Orange for Awareness: Empowering Law Students Against Gender-Based Violence

This seminar is organized within the framework of the ChallengeEU project, as part of the ODEI Working Group (WP5), which aims, among other objectives, to strengthen students' capacities in addressing gender-based violence. "Orange for Awareness" is an activity that brings together professionals from the legal system, mental health, civil society, and activism to create a shared space for education, reflection, and awareness on one of the most serious human rights challenges. Aligned with the 2025 theme of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence "UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls", the seminar emphasizes the growing importance of combating violence in both physical and digital spaces. It aims to equip students with legal, psychological, and practical knowledge, preparing them to become professionals committed to justice, victim protection, and fostering social change. The Legal Clinic "Emine Zendeli", through its role in providing primary legal assistance, enables students to respond professionally to real cases of gender-based violence, strengthening the connection between theory, practice, and ethical engagement in the protection of human rights. INCLUDO focuses on a highly topical issue: Artificial Intelligence and Diversity. Artificial Intelligence (AI) promises new opportunities – such as barrier-free tools or personalized learning offers. We are pleased to invite you to the upcoming ChallengeEU Online Café, this time dedicated to one of the most transformative topics in academia today: Artificial Intelligence in higher education. This session will bring together four speakers from four ChallengeEU partner universities, each offering brief insights into AI-related initiatives developed at their institutions: South East European University (SEEU) Universidade Europeia (UEL) ECAM LaSalle Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU) What Will We Discuss? The conversation will be broadly structured around three overarching questions: How are institutions framing and supervising students’ use of AI?This includes usage guidelines, monitoring tools and contexts of use, and early findings on how students engage with AI in practice. In what ways can AI enrich teaching and course activities?Speakers will share practical examples of how AI is being integrated into learning and teaching. What governance, support mechanisms, and ethical frameworks are needed for responsible AI use?We will explore how universities can ensure meaningful, transparent and ethically sound integration of AI into academic life. Our aim is to create a collegial and open space for discussion, where professors and academic staff can meet peers facing similar questions, exchange experiences, and gather ideas for their own pedagogical practice.
