    Call for Papers Symposium: Sustainable Futures in Higher Education In a world facing complex social, environmental and ethical challenges, higher education institutions play a fundamental role in shaping responsible professionals and engaged global citizens. Universities are not only spaces for knowledge production, but also laboratories for new forms of learning, collaboration and societal transformation. Within the framework of the One World Academy Week, the Symposium: Sustainable Futures in Higher Education – Ethics, Responsibility and Global Education invites academics, researchers, and higher education practitioners to share research and pedagogical practices that contribute to advancing sustainability, ethics and global responsibility in higher education. Aligned with the One World pillar of the Universidade Europeia’s Academic Model, this symposium aims to foster dialogue around innovative teaching approaches, impactful research and institutional practices that promote a more inclusive, ethical and sustainable academic ecosystem. The symposium will bring together scholars and educators interested in exploring how higher education can actively contribute to addressing global challenges and preparing students to act with responsibility, critical awareness and intercultural understanding. Topics of Interest We welcome contributions that explore, but are not limited to, the following themes: Integration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into higher education curricula Ethical education and applied ethics in academic contexts Innovative pedagogical approaches for sustainability and global citizenship Intercultural learning and internationalisation in higher education Human-centred learning or community-engaged learning addressing societal challenges Institutional strategies for sustainability in universities Higher education as a driver of social innovation and environmental responsibility Interdisciplinary approaches to global challenges in education Case studies of impactful educational practices in higher education   >>> Submit your abstract here. Submissions should indicate whether the proposal corresponds to: A research paper, or A pedagogical practice / educational innovation Accepted contributions will be presented during the symposium as oral presentations.     55th International Student Research Groups Seminar "At the Boundaries of Disciplines" The University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn is proud to host the jubilee 55th edition of the International Student Research Groups Seminar on 26–27 May 2026. For many years, the International Student Research Groups Seminar has served as a prestigious forum for presenting the achievements of young researchers, as well as a space for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and research inspiration. This year's theme, "At the Boundaries of Disciplines," highlights the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue, cooperation between diverse fields of science, and the search for new research perspectives that transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries. About the Event The Seminar creates an open and inspiring environment for the presentation of research results, theoretical concepts, applied projects, and innovative scientific solutions, representing a broad spectrum of disciplines and research areas. Students and doctoral candidates from academic institutions worldwide are welcome to participate, either as active presenters or passive participants, regardless of their disciplinary background.     9th International Scientific Conference on Business and Economics (ISCBE 2026), organized by the Faculty of Business and Economics, South East European University, and held as a hybrid event on 11–12 June 2026 at the European University of Valencia, Spain. This conference provides a forward-looking and interdisciplinary platform for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to explore how economies can become resilient, competitive, and future-ready in an era of rapid technological change and global uncertainty. The central theme focuses on the critical role of innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation in shaping sustainable and competitive economic systems. Key discussions will address topics such as digital competitiveness and economic growth, innovation driven entrepreneurship, the role of artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making, startup and ecosystem development, digital skills and human capital, and policy frameworks supporting future oriented economies. Special attention will be given to how firms, institutions, and regions can adapt to disruptive technologies while fostering inclusive and sustainable development. We strongly encourage the active participation of master’s and PhD students.     Call for Papers: URAI Symposium 2026. AI and the Human in the Loop

    The Upper Rhine Artificial Intelligence Symposium (URAI) is a recurring international conference focusing on applied, human‑centred, and responsible AI. It brings together researchers from computer science, engineering, and application domains to exchange results and experiences at the intersection of AI technology and human decision‑making. URAI 2026. AI and the Human in the Loop: Creation, Application, and Co-Evolution will take place on 4 November 2026 at the FHNW Campus Brugg‑Windisch (Switzerland) and is hosted by the FHNW School of Computer Science. The symposium is co‑organized with ChallengeEU’s Associate Partner TriRhenaTech. TriRhenaTech is the cross‑border alliance of Universities of Applied Sciences and Grandes Écoles in the Upper Rhine region (France, Germany, Switzerland). Researchers from ChallengeEU partner universities, including early‑career researchers, are invited to submit contributions.     Summer School on Applied Behavioral Methods at Universidad Europea de Valencia

    Behavioral Bridge is a one-week Summer School on Applied Behavioral Methods combined with a one-day research workshop, organized by the Behavioral Economics Institute at the Universidad Europea de Valencia (UEV) from 13 to 18 July 2026. The program is also designed as a training initiative of the ChallengeEU Alliance, remaining open to participants from other universities and to professionals from public and private organizations.  Behavioral Bridge offers PhD students, junior faculty and professionals advanced training in behavioral methods on 4 key areas: Artificial Intelligence and Behavior: Digital Twins Replication (Dr. Tommaso Batistoni, Oxford), Market Research and Consumption: The WIne Sector (Professor Nikolaos Georgantzis, BSB), Climate Change Mitigation: Fostering Behavior (Professor Esther Blanco), Behavior and Healthier Lifestyles: Food Labels (Professor Paolo Crosetto). Each area will be formally covered by one scholar in the morning (in 2 sessions of 120 minutes each), leaving the afternoon for interactions with researchers and other participants. On Wednesday 15th, with attendance of all Summer School students, the BEI will be hosting the 5th Workshop in Behavioral Economics @ the Europea (WoBE@E), on the topic Applied Behavioral Research Methods. The tuition fee for the Summer School (July 13th-14th-16th-17th) is €500, €400 for academics coming from a ChallengeEU institution (including PhD students).     The Summer School “Traces in the Landscape” is devoted to the study of landscape perceived as a multilayered palimpsest shaped by natural, cultural, and social processes occurring over time. During the workshops, academic staff and participants will jointly reflect on how to identify traditional architectural and landscape forms in relation to local identity, historical knowledge, and the relationship between people and place. Students will also focus on the natural and sensory dimensions of landscape, such as colour, texture, rhythm, and plant structures, as well as on biophilia as a concept of reconnecting humans with nature. Aim To develop participants’ skills in identifying, interpreting, and protecting cultural, natural, and aesthetic elements embedded in the landscape.
